Your revenue, profits, and attitude will suffer as a result.

My name is Mike Coleman. I am a marketing consultant, copywriter, and professional speaker working with business owners who want to put marketing systems in place that will grow their business and scale their business at a faster pace.
My goal is to educate business owners on the principles of direct response marketing, automation, and copywriting so they can grow and scale their business at a faster pace. These principles incorporate both online and offline strategies – website, social media, email marketing, video, direct mail, copywriting, marketing funnels – taking an “all of the above” approach to marketing. "Old school" strategies still work and when you combine them with new technologies, you have a powerful combination that gets results.
After graduating with a degree in Computer Information Systems, I spent the next 17 years working both as an employee and as a consultant for individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners and Fortune 500 companies writing computer software, installing computer networks, building websites, and working in several different areas of the information technology field.
In 2007, I decided it was time to leave my career in information technology behind to pursue my dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur and business owner. Always a voracious reader with a commitment to lifelong learning, I read everything I could find that would teach me more about technology, business, marketing, and sales.
I studied the copywriting and internet marketing books of Dan Kennedy, Gary Halbert, and others to learn what I needed to know to become a successful copywriter and internet marketer. Then joining Toastmasters taught me how to become a better speaker, which led to my association with the Tennessee Chapter of the National Speakers Association absorbing everything I could about the business of speaking, product development, marketing, sales, social media, and internet marketing. Aligning myself with other successful people who were doing what I wanted to do presented me with the opportunity to be mentored by the top people in the field.
I began implementing everything I learned to start building my business. This allowed me to separate the fluff from the things that made a real difference. There are a lot of people who read the books and become “experts”. I have not only read the books, but I live what I teach other people to do.
All this knowledge led to writing my first book in 2008 – “Playing The Right Cards: How To Successfully Market Your Small Business or Professional Services”. (A completely updated second edition was just completed in 2018.) This little book has been used by many business owners, professionals, and entrepreneurs to help them create a solid foundation for their marketing and business building efforts. It’s a quick and easy crash course in Marketing 101. Over the next 12 months after writing the book, I created a dozen audio CD products covering everything from beating procrastination and getting better at time management to social media and website design.
My business experience comes from being in the trenches as a business owner and from my commitment to lifelong learning – studying sales, marketing, business development – and by monitoring the latest trends in technology. I am very curious and constantly learning and making the necessary adjustments required to make my business (and my clients’ businesses) more successful.
The time I spent working with business owners and entrepreneurs over the years has been like getting a real-world college education in entrepreneurship. Always a student of business and life, I learn from the successes and the failures of my clients and mentors. I have always been a fan of entrepreneurs and business owners because I have always been an entrepreneur at heart. My work is almost an obsession. It is my passion.
My client list runs the gamut from small business owners, music industry professionals, CEOs, a former CNN news anchor to nationally known speakers and authors. In addition to writing a book and creating over a dozen audio CD programs, I have published over 100 articles on technology, marketing, business development, and other topics related to business growth.
As a professional speaker, I have delivered hundreds of seminars, breakout sessions, workshops, and keynote presentations to Chambers of Commerce; associations; nonprofit groups; national and regional conferences including the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM).
