Are you using the holidays as an excuse for poor sales?
This time of year brings holiday parties, lots of shopping, and time off work. People are a little less focused than usual. It may be a little more difficult to contact the decision makers within organizations.
That does not mean you have to be less focused, and it doesn't mean you reign in your sales efforts.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking just because it's the holidays, you can't increase your sales and grow your business. That is what everyone else is thinking.
Instead, become more focused and increase the amount of effort you are putting into your business. Look at this time as an opportunity to boost sales because you don't have as much competition.
Take a look at your sales this year and see if you are where you want to be. There are still five weeks left, and a lot can happen in five weeks if you maintain your focus.
This is also the time of year when you have to be even more careful with how you manage your time. There are a few more demands on your time during the holidays, so set boundaries and stick to them.
It is very, very important to spend time with friends and family during this time of year. But it's also important that you don't let your business suffer because you are using the holidays as an excuse for poor sales.
Use this time to build relationships with your potential clients and your current clients. The holidays are a perfect time to build relationships because most people are in a better mood this time of year. The relationships you build now could be the difference in having a good year in 2011 or having a GREAT year.
If you change your belief system and increase your efforts, you still have the opportunity to make this your best year ever.

Personal note to all my friends, peers, and business associates:
I feel so blessed to have some of the most amazing people in the world in my circle of friends. I want each one of you to know how privileged I feel to be able to call you my friend. Thank you for your support and encouragement. My business and my life would be so much less without you being a part of it. I only hope I can give back just a fraction of what you have given me. Happy Thanksgiving.
To Your Success,
