Google recently unveiled a feature called instant search. As you type in the phrase you are looking for, Google starts displaying search results immediately as you are typing.
And it really is a time saver.

Now when I go to Bing or Yahoo, I feel as if I'm on an antiquated search engine. I'm sure they will not be far behind, but it will be interesting to see how much market share Google picks up as a result of this innovation.

Twitter announced it is turning itself into a multi-media showcase by adding a new pane to make it easier for users to check out audio and video.

These are little things with huge consequences for their competitors if their competitors don't get on board fast.

All leading edge companies are innovative in their thinking and innovative in how they run their business. Google and Twitter are just two examples in the high tech industry.

Innovation is all around us. I recently read an article in USA Today about someone who had taken a regular computer roller case, like you typically see in airports, and added a small fold out table to the extension arm that can be used as a laptop desk while waiting in airports. They can't keep up with the demand for their product ... even in this "down" economy.

In the last week, I had conversations with two speakers who had their best year ever last year. One actually saw an almost 30% increase. This is during a time when speaker bureaus are dropping like flies and many speakers have found regular jobs or are struggling.

The reason these two speakers are doing so well is they are constantly evaluating and adjusting their business model to meet the marketplace. They do something a little different from what they have done in the past and it works.

Accepting the status quo is no longer an option in this fast paced world we live in. That's just the way it is and you had better get used to it.

People and businesses are slow to change and slow to accept what is right in front of them. So if you can stay on the leading edge of your business or industry and accept the inevitable change, you will succeed. Because most people are not doing this.

Your task for today is to write down three things you can do differently in your business and take action on one of those things today. Do you need to reevaluate your business model? Do you need to change your focus or start going after a different market?

Find something you can do a little different in your business and embrace change. This will give you the motivation you need to move forward and as a result you will have a better business and a much better life.

To Your Success,
