Are you a slacker or are you motivated to get up every morning and tackle the day with passion and enthusiasm?
If you are like some people, just getting out of bed in the morning is enough of an accomplishment for the day. Of course, if you are reading this newsletter, you are not one of those people. You are highly motivated.
Researchers have reported that being a slacker could be in our genetic makeup or in how we were raised. That is not to say you can't change from being a slacker to a highly motivated individual. It just takes more soul searching and effort for some people.
Here are a couple of other things that can lead to not being motivated.
1. Fear of failure and fear of trying new things.
2. Letting life control you instead of you controlling life.
It's difficult to infuse anyone with the desire to be motivated. They have to want to change their slacker ways.
And sometimes it's just a matter of finding that "thing" in their life that drives them ... finding and pursuing their passion. And it takes some people longer than others to find it.
The key, as with most things in life, is to find what works for you.
Here are six suggestions for staying motivated:
1. Find something you are interested in.
2. Use your time wisely. Know the time of day when you are most productive and take advantage of that time.
3. Create a support system around you comprised of people who will always tell you the truth and not mince words when you need feedback on something in your business or in your life.
4. Be physically active. Make sure your body is up to the challenges you will be facing by providing it with proper nutrition and exercise.
5. As John Prine sang in his song “Spanish Pipedream”, blow up your TV (and I don’t mean buy a bigger screen).
6. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. One of the biggest reasons I have seen for people not being motivated is being “comfortable” or “secure” where they are.
If you want to make more money and become more successful in all areas of your life, then you have to be motivated every day to "get it done".
I hope this newsletter has motivated you to take action and to find what motivates you. It makes for a much more interesting life.
