At some point, you may have the feeling you are just not doing enough. You don't feel like you're doing enough to grow your business, nurture your relationships, be healthy, or to create balance in your life.
This leads to stress, feelings of overwhelm, and general physical and psychological issues.
Do you ever have these feelings?
If you are like most people (and normal) you probably do have these feelings from time to time.
Here is a great exercise to help you overcome this challenge. Take a piece of paper and create two columns. At the top of the first column, write "What am I doing right?". At the top of the second column, write "What am I doing wrong?". Be totally honest.
For example, in the "What am I doing right?" column, you may write walking 45 minutes every day, staying in touch with clients and prospcts on a weekly basis, or something similar.
In the "What am I doing wrong?" column, you may list not eating right, not making as many sales calls as I know I should, or whatever the issue is for you.
Then take each item in the "What am I doing wrong?" column and write down action steps you can take for each individual item then work on them one at a time.
This raises awareness which leads to taking the necessary steps to correct what is wrong. There is something so powerful about writing something down and getting it out of your head.
What people usually find is they are doing a lot of things right, and the things they are doing wrong are easily corrected.
The key is to create a step-by-step action plan to correct each issue you need to address in the "What am I doing wrong?" column. Keep it simple.
Spend more time rewarding yourself for what you are doing versus beating yourself up for not doing something you think you should be doing.
If you are taking a step in the right direction, then reward yourself for that. Reward yourself and pat yourself on the back for the accomplishments and things you are doing right in your life.
Understand the truth about your particular situation. Know the facts and don't get caught up in creating scenarios in your mind of what could happen or what may happen. Stick to the facts.
Be patient with yourself. We are sometimes our own worst critic and our own worst enemy. We get impatient for something to happen and get upset when it doesn't happen according to our schedule.
Be aware and work on what needs changing knowing that change will not occur overnight. Most of all, have fun in your business and in your life. Go with the flow and lighten up!
