The first question I ask when I start working with someone is, “If you could snap your fingers and wake up in the morning with your ideal business and ideal life, what would that look like?”

This is one of the most powerful questions you can ask. In order for you to create the life you want, you first have to know what it looks like.

To answer the question, you need to know what success looks like for you and you must clearly identify your unique why.

One of the biggest mistakes anyone can make is letting family, friends, or society dictate what success is supposed to look like. You are the only one who can truly identify your unique view of success.

You also have to know what drives you to get out of bed in the morning. What is your unique “why” for doing what you are doing?

Being in business is tough and if you don’t have something other than money or status driving you forward, you greatly diminish your chances of success.

Here is your project for the next few days. Get a notebook and start brainstorming the answers to the following three questions:

1. If you could snap your fingers and wake up in the morning with your ideal life and ideal business, what would that look like?

2. What does success look like for you?

3. What is my unique "why"?

Use one page for each question. Write each question at the top of the page and just start writing.

Don’t edit yourself at first. You can come back later and revise anything you have written. The important thing is to get started.

If you take the time to answer these three questions, you WILL achieve success.

Give yourself time and be patient with the process. Everyone I work with, even if they are reluctant at first, is happy they went through this process of self-discovery.

Answering these three questions will have a dramatic impact on the level of success you achieve in your business and in your life.
